I’m Andrew Mizell, founder of Planning Ahead. Our mission is to provide lessons and resources to help others build a life they love.

This page is a little self-indulgent, as it’s all about me, but hopefully, you’ll find it interesting!

A little about me:

  • I currently serve as an Infantry officer in the Army. 🪖
  • I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy and a Master’s in Robotics from Northeastern University. 🎓
  • My graduate school studies primarily focused on drones, artificial intelligence, and machine learning; so the discussion of AI (especially how it can be used to make our lives easier) is a passion project of mine.🦾
  • I’ve spent the past decade exploring countless resources on productivity, accelerated learning, fitness, mindfulness, and more – from the scientific to the unorthodox – on my own self-optimizing quest. 🚀
  • I’ve been with my gorgeous wife, Natasha, since high school where we met on the dive team. We’ve been married since 2022. 💜
  • We don’t have any kids (yet), but we love our Staffy, Peach, and Jack Russel, Winnie, very much. 🐶

I started this site to compile lessons and resources I wish I had as a student. I hope it helps others, like my little sister, during some of their most challenging and formative years.
